Hello, I was hoping for some advice on those who live in Holland or nearby. I am looking to move to the area. Douglas/Saugatuck is my original plan but that is looking to be too hard at this time. Wanting to rent a condo/ home or flat but I am down to settling for an apartment complex at this point and am wondering if anyone is familiar with these and the location, amenities and crime etc. Good solid info appreciated. Thanks~~~~~~~Spring Brook is located in Holland, Michigan, three miles from both US-31 and I-196. Conveniently located three miles from downtown Holland and nine miles from downtown Zeeland, Spring Brook is within minutes of several attractions, including Lake Macatawa, Lake Michigan, Holland State Park, and Hope College. Spring Brook is located in the Hamilton School District.

there is no shortage of condos in the Holland area, I'm not sure I would really want to live in an apartment complex any time soon if I can help it, that's just me. As far as crime, it is far less than a lot of places. If you like Mexican food there a lot of good little ma' and pa' places. Not sure what Oscoda is like but being that close to the lake I would think you would like the easy access to the lakes in the Holland area.

Not a lot of great apartments in Holland, but plenty of condos as topher suggested. Check out Baker Lofts for rentals.

You could probably rent a house downtown Holland for the same price as an apartment. If it were me, I'd want to live by the Holland State Park. Remember, the closer you are to the water, the warmer it is in the winter.

It's the truth though. There is usually a 5-10 degree difference year round. Summer it is cooler next to the lake and in the winter it is warmer... I see it every day.

Yep, it's true.
We're less than 1/2 mile from the lake and there's usually a 10 degree, if not more, difference from just a few miles inland.
