The problem with MI and the northern lights is that the state has so much cloud cover because of the lakes. It's a miracle when you can get the northern lights and a clear sky at the same time. I've only seen them a couple times in 40 years.

Hmm, I don't know, before moving to AK (now I'm back), I would see the lights at least 3-5 times a year. That's a darn good average. I saw them 3 times in over 3 years in Alaska.

Now I'm wondering if that's what it was? I've never seen anything like it.
