in the above video, which was shot in Michigan, what regional dialect of US english does the kid with dark hair speaking have? Is it southern?

The video is from Michigan, but he sounds non-Michigander to me...am i correct?

Sounds like he is probably from Michigan, but there's no way to be 100% sure. I can tell by the way he says "and" and "box". Does not sound southern to me at all, though. Sounds like someone who could live down the street from me.

he could be from anywhere -- Michigan, Illionois, Iowa. The hair color really does not apply.

You can't guarantee it, but his accent sounds typical for Michigan to me, especially by the way he says certain words (michigan83 already mentioned which ones.)

What accent? Like recent posters said, he could virtually be from anywhere. I thought possibly Chicago, but it really sounds like it could be more broad.

thanks for the responses, i guess i need more training to distinguish southern accents from Great lakes accents....they both kind of sound "drawled out" on some words to me.
