My husband and I are a bi-racial couple w/bi-racial children and we want to go to Port Austin for a vacation. Anyone ever been up there that experienced racism?

LOL this isn't 1950s America or Mississippi. Most people just mind their own business.

I grew up near there and I honestly don't think it'll be a problem.

If anything - I think it's racist of you to assume that someone from the country would have racial issues towards you.

No, if anything it is prejudice and I can see why she asked, because the demographics aren't too diverse.

I, too, spent summers up there as a child and remember it being mostly white people. I just didn't want to bring my children up there and be treated like lepers. Just forget it. I don't encounter too much racism in the city and I just didn't know if I should prepare my children or not. thank you for all the responses.
