I thought I read it somewhere that one of the Dearborns is the Middle Eastern capital of the U.S.? Any truth? Didn't Miss USA 2010 Rima Fakih based out of Dearborn?

Is one of the Dearborn a suburb of Detroit or a neighborhood/division of Detroit?

Don't matter where it is. Dearborn has the largest Muslim population in the USA (Second outside of the Middle East--Paris being number one)...

Mich. Has Largest U.S. Muslim Population

Why are we always grouping the suburbs with Detroit?

If you're asking whether Dearborn or Dearborn heights is the Muslim "hub," it's Dearborn. Dearborn Heights has a sizable population, but it comes nowhere close to Dearborn.

Uhm, why does this even matter? Why arent we asking what city has the most Jewish, French, Mexican, Korians? White and black for that matter? Some of us have yet to learn that YES the u.s. is a soup of all nationalities, among other groups of 'interest' that you may not even be involved in. Stop profiling, and shed those unneeded insecurities.

Its just a question. There are geographic patterns to ethnic groups in the United States. People tend to congregate where they find others they have in common with. Maybe someone wants to visit the area, because of its uniqueness.

Its not profiling. It may very well be because is fascinated by the diversity. And yes, there are threads that talk about where those other groups are too.

To me, it's more of a religious issue. I'd be a bit on edge if the local population didn't hold the same core values that I did and a good portion of that religion were at war with those that held them.

We were a soup of all nationalities that became Americans and were assimilated into our culture. Now, it's all about diversity and preserving whatever culture they came from. This is a BAD thing. I want our immigrants to be Americans -- not expatriates. If they still did this, the insecurities would go away.
