As far as jobs that would probably depend on what you do. Northern jobs tend to not pay as much but that is the trade off though if you really love and enjoy the outdoors and the area. In regards to hunting and fishing? Your in northern Michigan so I'd say your not far from either depending on where you live they both could be in your back yard.

Jobs...very scarce. Hunting and fishing... awesome! like JGatti pretty much said, northern Michigan is a tough place for jobs and pay, but if you love the outdoors...it doesnt get much better!

Cadillac T/C area is an great place to raise a family. Rual isn't far out side the city limits away from the seasonal tourist who flock to the area for the hunting, fishing, skiing both down hill and cross country as well as snowmobileing. Many of the jobs are seasonal to service the tourist. There are factorys in the area but they don't seem to hire often, and nearly not at all in this ecomeny.

Great place to raise a family. Traverse City area and small towns around it have great schools - safe neighborhoods. There is a lot to do outdoors - all four seasons. Cadillac is a little more rough for raising children - more drugs - etc - mostly because it is so poor.

As far as jobs. If you are a nurse or in most of the healthcare field there will be loads of work for you - beyond that there isn't a lot. Cadillac only has fast food job openings - TC has a little more.
