For me, the worst part of living in a cold climate is the inability to walk without feeling like you're an inch away from breaking your pelvis. I truly hate it, as I'm an outdoors person. Every step in like a project.

The city plows the sidewalks of the residential area near downtown, and they do a wonderful job on the side walks as well. The problem is sometimes you have to walk around the piles of snow, but your footing is pretty secure.

For the most part, you shouldn't have a problem. The city's good about keeping the sidewalks clear, and residents are required to shovel within 24(?) hours of a major snow event. Just wear good shoes with lots of traction and be mindful of where you put your feet.
