Yikes, don't remind me of what we have to look forward to over the next several months!

The worst part about living where it is cold and snowy in the winter is driving in it, or at least it is for me. Other than that, it's kind of a cozy and laid back time of the year. Hopefully we won't have too many days like in that video this winter.

Stay safe, everyone!

Here in north Colorado, to save money, they frequently don't plow. When the snow hits, you lose one or two days of work because the driving is so bad. And this is the biggest city in north Colorado!

They also use "sand" on the roads. It's not fine sand. It's sand with pebbles that crack windshields and ding your car.

They shut down the freeways for snow.

During the summer, there are hail storms that pock your car. In one five minute down pour, you'll get twenty dings.

I'd rather see the rare pile up on Michigan roads than this.

Last year coming home from the Red Wings game on I-75/696 interchange with my old boss, I think I scared him a little bit when we had freezing rain and black ice on the freeways and we started sliding. I was only going 35 mph and had the car under control from sliding into another car or even sliding out of the lane. It was priceless.

That car pinball scene was from Colorado. Notice all the cars had Colorado plates. Back when I was in high school, I lived at an often busy intersection in central Macomb County. There was black ice (one of the roads is privately owned and had not been salted) and I sat up at my bedroom window and watched probably five different rear end collisions over the course of the morning. As for driving on this kind of stuff, I've never really learned how. I'm that dude in the 2wd truck with no weight doing 25 in the right lane.
