lol.

The title keeps throwing me off as well, 'would of been great'. Isn't it 'would have been great'...?

I understood the title fine. I must have some kind of super brain that can reorganize the words when I'm reading it.

It's by no means a comfortable, quiet, or smooth car, but hey, you can't have everything, right?
It's true a Caddy will be more comfortable but hard to park!

I have a 99 SL2 now. Good power but not as efficient as the SL or SL1. I can't complain. When I go to the cabin up in Colorado, it doesn't do too well the last couple of miles. It's too steep and the tires aren't built for rocky roads but it made it!

Ave city mpg is around 28 and hwy is 38 or 39. Sometimes 40.

Definitely it's "would have" or "would've." Volkswagen moved its NA HQ from Metro Detroit to Metro Washington DC because it has one the highest concentration of college grads in the country. I was being funny, but it's no laughing matter.

Yeah, mine is a '98 SL2. I think I like having the extra power, rather than the extra 5 mpg or so. I'm hoping mine will make it to 300,000. Then I'm going to look for a used '01 or '02 SL2. I'm working on saving up the $3,000 right now.

Oh, and just to keep to the original topic somewhat... I know Michigan needs to diversify its economy, but having a VW plant come here would diversify it in a sense. Michigan is overly dependent on the Big Three, but if foreign automakers want to set up shop here, I think it's a good thing. So you won't catch me saying "good riddance" when a company chooses not to open a plant here. I would take it.
