Congrats!! What is your specialty? I have 13 years experience total with 9 years of Networking, 2 years of VoIP Telecomm, and I am studying Network Security right now. I never went to college, I did self-study for Networking Certifications specializing in Cisco.

Once you get some experience and I would also suggest getting some certifications. By keeping up with current technologies and getting certified, you can stay ahead of the curve. Even in the recession, I never went longer than 2 months without finding work.

Thanks Tjay, much appreciated. I have enjoyed it so much and its only been 4 days!! But I got 2 interviews next week, and if something comes from one of those I will be buying me a little place here in Oscoda to spend my weekends!

I firmly believe that a positive attitude will go a long way!! It may not get you a job, but a positive attitude does better than being down all the time. You have to just roll with the punches and keep the faith that everything will work out.

Can I please pay you to please stop trying to suck all of the joy out of this happy, positive thread? The OP is obviously very happy to be home, has a positive, upbeat attitude, and is trying to find a job and contribute to this great state. Why try so hard to ruin it for them? Can't you just be happy for them like the rest of us? Believe it or not, a.) not everyone prefers Florida to Michigan and b.) Florida is also a state that is notorious for being a poster child for this terrible economy and subsequent housing market. If you are going to bash, then at least brag on a state that has something going for it.

Its pathetic how some people try to turn everything good and spin it into their own negative way of thinking isnt it?
Dont let the negative nellies bring you down IWS! There are plenty of us who feel exactly the way you do and love it you have such a great attitude! I would feel the same way living in such a beautiful area! I am sooo jealous! The best of luck to you!

Well congrats IWantSnow and this ought to make you feel even better........a very sticky 97 degrees today in my part of Florida. I about dropped dead cutting my lawn today. I staggered over to the garden hose and ran water over my body then after 2 quarts of ice water and Gatorade on the couch in front of the AC I started coming to my senses. What I wouldn't have given to take in dip in Lake Michigan today, lol.

Good luck with your job search and enjoy MI.

Keep us updated on the job interviews. I'd like to move back to Michigan in the future. The lack of seasons in Florida gets old after awhile. Not to mention the crowds, traffic, etc... Hopefully I can do some skiing this winter so I can get my snow fix.

Don't worry... I REFUSE to let ANYONE'S negative comments bring me down!! NOTHING nor NO ONE will stop me from living my dreams and being happy!! They say misery loves company and the ones who come onto a positive thread and bash are just miserable in their own lives.

I am the HAPPIEST I have EVER been... You truly do not know what you have till it's gone. My 5 1/2 years being away from this state made me appreciate it soooo much more!!
