Can anyone recommend an excellent female tattoo artist in Miami?

I would like to have a nice tattoo, in a place that looks more like a spa, does this exist? With a female artist.

I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a tattoo shop that looks like a spa, thats not going to happen.

As for a female tattoo artist, I recommend Maite at Phat Joe's tattoo (Bird Rd and 84th Ave or so). I've never personally been tattooed by her, but a few of my friends have and she does good work.

Isn't there a tattoo parlor in Miami Beach called Miami Ink,whereby a the woman does tattoos and has its own show on cable television?

LA Ink is the one with the woman who runs her own tattoo shop. I think the Miami Ink tattoo shop is actually no longer there, I remember reading something in the herald that most of the artist's had gone their own way, and the shop had been moved elsewhere.

All of the tat places in Miami just look TOO scary for me, with guys in there who look like they just got out of jail. Oh well, I guess tattoos are still just not mainstream enough. Ugh, those guys look too scary, THERE is NO WAY I would have one give me a tattoo. No matter how good they are.

Honestly, this could be a new "niche" market for someone smart and savvy, a NICE tat place, that upscale female clients would not feel out of place going to. Lots of my friends, with big bucks would like tats, but just think the places that they have seen in Miami are not places that they would feel comfortable in.

Haha, what kind of people do you expect to see at a tattoo shop, nicely dressed people with no tattoos? It's really not that bad, most places I've been in have very friendly people, even if they look a little weird. It's all part of the tattoo tradition, if you're scared of that, then tattoos are probably not for you. You have to realize, theres nothing "upscale" or "nice" about a needle puncturing your skin thousands of times per minute injecting ink into it.
