I'm highly functional in 3 languages (EN, SP, PT), well traveled, worked as a volunteer for 2 years with a non-profit in Europe and North Africa, great with people, loves culture and travel, hold a bachelor's in History, etc....

I'm not happy at my marketing job and am looking to see if anything fits me better... Does anyone have any ideas or opportunities? My wife is still in school for one more year in Miami and I'm looking to stay in the area for at least that long...
Help?

Well, Joe:
Jobs are difficult to find any where these days, as some other posters alluded and as I'm sure that you already know. If you had a master's degree, I would recommend teaching a few courses at one of the local community colleges or universities. Of course, you will start out as an adjunct (part-time), but if you take on a decent course load, you would be able to splice together a decent pay check. Now, if you do not have a master's degree, do not dispair. Many academic institutions have part-time positions in their student services and academic departments. In many cases, you can get a full-time position after working part-time after a little while because, by then, your colleagues would know who you are and your work ethic, and it's good to know someone on those hiring committees.

Check out these websites for more information:
1) www.mdc.edu
2) www.broward.edu
3) www.pbcc.edu

Good luck! And remember to never lose hope. You'll find some thing.

ClUb PrOmOtEr!!!

If you want to work with your degree you'll be working somewhere in the teaching field(only stating the obvious). But you also mentioned your languages and also your experience in Marketing. Miami is the main place for banking and business with South America.. maybe go somewhere along those lines and see if you can't get into one of those companies in a different position?

You can be part of Pittbull's entourage now that he is even more famous, he is gonna need more people.

If that doesn't work, check Wikipedia for those companies that have headquarters in Miami, then check their individual companies websites for opened positions.
