Hello All, recently I moved to Miami and wanted to know if there's any compatriot around here that can point me to any good seafood restaurant or place, much like Villa Pesquera at Palmas De Mar in Humacao, Puerto Rico. If any of you have ever been there, you know that the fish, "tostones" (fried plantains) and "empanadillas" are great down there, and I just wanted to know if there's such a place here in Miami or in the vicinity. Thanks very much!

Default Sounds great

hello. wow the food sounds great kinda like the foods of my native country Jamaica. Judging by the lack of responses to your post I guess their aren't too many Puerto Ricans on the site... Good luck in the search and let me know if you hear of anything good.

Default Hey brother,

Yes, there at least three restaurants of Puero Rican cuisine. The most expensive, I will have to point out is, Carmen (the restaurant), 700 Biltmore Way (305-913-1944); Old San Juan Restaurant, 1200 Southwest, 57th Ave (305-263-9911) and Benny's Seafood Restaurant, 2500 Southwest, 107th Ave (305-227-1232).

Hopefully, I had assisted you in terms of appetitte delight, brother.

I have been to Old San Juan and Benny's. Benny's is very down home place but good food/atmosphere.

Neither is specially sea food oriented but they do have good ole PR food.

Smile Puerto Rican Restaurant

funny you should ask ~ just yesterday we arrived from PR for a weekend wedding and my mouth had a 4th of July experience with all the PR Grub - que rico! Then as I was getting ready to go to bed - on the Foodnetwork there was a show on Benny's Seafood Restaurant -it's near Dolphin Mall and it's specialty is Mofongo. I was floored considering its been there 10 years so I am going to check it out myself. I think the website is Bienvenidos / Welcome or just google it. I hope you find it and enjoy - please let me know your thoughts.
