Hi, I am moving from WPB down to Aventura or Miami. I am looking in the SE corner of 33179 or east 33180 along country club dr.

I can see the immediate difference in the area from google street view. from searching this forum, I have read that this a better part of an undesirable area on the fringe of the north miami beach "area." Is 33179 in the described area really that bad? I am planning to do a drive by to check it out but have not since its a 100 mile round trip. I hoped to find some third party opinions on observed crime, people, and living experiences beyond that which is easily searchable in other threads on here and on spotcrime maps. as a 30yo 6'+, athletic white male, I am not an smart target for crime but all the same I want to be in a decent area at a secured building with secured parking where there is minimal/non-existent risk for car theft/break-ins. my budget for rent is 1600-2200 for a 1BR so you can obviously see the appeal of the SE corner of 33179 since they list for roughly 1200-1600. any opinions, insight at all are very appreciated.

if I cant put anything together, my fall back is to fort lauderdale where i will be paying every bit of $2000-2200 for what I want, unfortunately. i want to avoid that so i can save and spend with more discretion.

With your budget price is not really going to be an issue, so I would go with the Country Club Drives in Aventura. You've got the 2.8 mile running path, and you can often see people cycling "the loop" on the road. LA Fitness is walking distance up at the Waterways, and it's an "old school" one, not one of the newer ones that feel more like a corporate office. The nearby JCC has a pool. It's great for an active life style.

The 33179 "Sky Lake" area has a pocket of nice homes, but the condos around there are not very impressive. The large one that is fully gated and secured-Jade Winds-has been in the news several times in recent years (crime, murders). IMO, the only reason to live in Sky Lake is if you need quick access to I-95. From Country Club Drives to I-95 can take 15 minutes in peak hour traffic... But this is really the only downside of Aventura. Feel free to PM me if you want more info.

Thanks for the reply. 33179 is literally a ghetto jungle. It is laughable. White people steer clear. I'm going to gladly pay 2200 for a nice FTL loft.

HurricaneMan1992 was right. There are tons of places in 33180 for this price, so it's a no brainer for you.

You defintely want to avoid 33179. I got my car wheels stolen in the parking lot of the gated community I live in and a month an al half later (just yesterday) they tried to steel them again but they could not do it because i have wheel locks installed now. They even went further by breaking into the car to look for the wheel lock key which luckily they could not find. I believe it was an inside job, so the crook is in my community....

This area is full of black people call it haitins, jamaicans or whatever... it's a ghetto. I don't want to be racist, but that's the truth.

I'll be moving the hell out of here ASAP

Last post must be talking about the west part of 33179, I would not want to live there either. But the southeast part (east of I-95, south of the County line) is pretty decent and definitely not a ghetto.
