The people running Miami Beach were morons. Always need to vent about that.

Anyway if this is an elevated road than I hope it is not done. If it is expreelane type thing on the existing road, who cares. Let it be made who wants to take a bus from Florida City anyway.

Pinecrest opposes any changes to their area, they will get the surrounding areas to also oppose this too is my guess. I like the idea of having another road, but I don't like the idea of MDX and tolls. Don't we have enough toll roads in this county? This is just another way for MDX to get more money. I pay plenty of taxes already, I'm not willing to pay more money to use a road.

It's not an elevated road, they're basically turning the busway into express lanes with some flyovers at busy intersections.
If you think it's bad with people turning right illegally despite the oversized "No Turn On Red" signs, just wait until somebody blows through the lights at 75 mph while you're making a legal right turn. Not pretty!

NIMBYs obviously work for transit projects, lets see how effectively they can hold back the road crew...something tells me, not as effectively.

What happens to the busway then?! Terrible idea! If you want to drive, sit in 1 traffic or take another route!

The buses can use the express lanes too. Just probably won't have stops on them.

Do people use the buses anyway?

The busway has been a big flop from day one and they knew it but did it anyways. US1 should have been expanded when the county took over the FEC railroad easement but instead they spent millions of dollars on a roadway that only sees 20 half empty busses per day. Now they want a toll road to increase revenue and drain us even more. Soon it with cost 10 bucks to go anywhere and it will be cheaper to stay home than go to work. The solution is simple, boycott all toll roads.
