Hi, all. First time poster here.

I'm starting work in a few weeks on Brickell and I'm interested in looking for a place to move into. A studio apartment would be okay, but I'm looking to live with other young professionals. I'm 22 and am willing to pay between $800 and $1200 per month, depending on location, etc. I intend on using the public transportation to get to work, so something within a certain distance from Brickell would be cool.

Does anybody know of any particular neighborhoods, areas, or websites that would be of interest? I'm from West Palm Beach, so I don't know too much about Miami and the surrounding areas.

Thanks in advance.

You might be able to find something on the fringes of Brickell for $1200, like a studio or something, prices have gone up in the past year.

You could up your rent range by shifting gas and parking money to rent. Instead of driving and paying for parking (assuming you are paying for parking), that money could go towards rent instead.

Downtown and Brickell you should be able to find something. It is a very young area and you can walk or take the people mover monorail to work.

Hi, am in Miami. The Brickell area is pretty high priced and with the economy and people losing their homes, rents have actually gone up because the are in demand. It would be good if you could find a roommate to share expenses, but that can be risky unless you know their complete background. Before moving in with someone, I suggest it is worth it to pay for a one month trial of one of those background check sites like Intellius. It may save your life.

I would suggest the brickell area as well, you will need to get a roommate most likely if you would like to live any of the nicer buildings.
