I'm thinking long term, his high school is just a stepping stone for college and I want to place him in the best position to succeed. Killian also has the iprep program in place where kids can earn up to 40 college credits while still in high school. The coach highly encourages all his players to join the program and keep their grades up. If you have anything productive to say I would love to hear it otherwise you should really keep your unsolicited "opinions" to yourself.
What is that I hear? A HELICOPTER PARENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to inform you, but, I did not state any opinion, just questions.

Besides, any post on a forum is a solicitation for opinions. If you want a data and opinion filter, perhaps you should only ask me who will tell you things you want to hear.

Now for my opinion:

Going to Killian is not going to make your kid a great player, going to UM is not either, so I do not see why you are drooling all over these places.

You state you are concerned about your kid's education, but you fail to ask about education quality in any post.

UM reputation? Who cares, it is actual facts you should care about, not reputation. UM's most famous player, A Rod, did not even attend, but yet he is associated with the place. His talent got him recruited right out of HS, and he was not at Killian!

If I had a dime every time some stated "my little snowflake has talent" spew.

I understand you concern, and appreciate it for your kid and wish half of the parents had so much concern, but I think it is foolish to get all hyped up over a certain school, thinking somehow this is some magic path for your kid, when in fact it is not and the facts speak otherwise; many high schools are represented in many colleges and in the pros. If your kid truly has talent, he will get noticed.............

Both UF and FSU have stronger baseball programs than UM, you are acting as if UM is the only hope in life.
