TRONDHEIM , Norway, March 10 (UPI) -- Ecstasy may help sufferers of post-traumatic stress disorder learn to deal with their memories more effectively, researchers in Norway suggest.

"A goal during exposure therapy for PTSD is to recall distressing experiences while at the same time remaining grounded in the present," study authors Pal-Orjan Johansen and Teri Krebs, based at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology said in a statement.

I know they were doing studies with magic mushrooms or the psychoactive ingredients in them for terminally ill cancer patients. The results concluded that while the patients found it frightening it was very beneficial to them even months later. I grew mushrooms a while back and they are quite a trip and def. can be scary at times but you can learn a lot spiritually. Even marijuana is very benificial in the same ways. Glad that studies are being done to show that these plants or excusme "drugs" have a purpose. Ecstacy I never did or would toy with due to purity issues and its made in a lab. Safer then alcohol though and if its helping people why the hell not :-)
