i will conclude w/ this statement, i truly think that it would have been a wonderful thing for some of the huge amounts of stimulus money to be used on the crosstown sears building as housing. i could envision sleek new windows, umber or shrimp brown paint and flashing, some small independent businesses on the bottom floor, and a few other amenities. it is such a magnificent building. it seems as if the cleveland and poplar idea is out of the running for providing neighborhood shopping, but i still wish that building would be used in the crosstown and north area of memphis.
