My husband and I moved here 2 years ago from Mobile, AL. My husband works in Collierville,tn and we currently live in Olive Branch,ms.We are looking to get a lower house payment and were wondering what areas are safe.Some areas we are looking(Realtor.com) are Southaven, Horn lake, Byhalia, Potts Camp, Como(Ms). I am a stay at home mom with 2 kids and am worried since we don't know the areas.

I would think after 2 years, you would have a better understanding of the area. ?? Southaven is basically next to Olive Branch and the safety should be relatively the same. I'm sure it justs depends on where you live in each area. Horn Lake is further south. Potts Camp...never heard of it. I can't imagine these little towns are unsafe or have that much crime. Why not just find a smaller home where you live? (if you like it) Or just refinance right now, when the rates are so low.

Southaven or Byhalia is the best place in MS outside of Memphis to live. Crime is low and they're growing pretty fast. Take a look around- they're all pretty close to Olive Branch.

I will be moving to Olive Branch in a couple days. For your rental needs I can recommend Margiesmithson.com, Desoto Property Management and Enterprise Property Management. Out of thses three you should luck out. Realtor.com usually lists out of date stuff, you may end up disappointed like I did using them as a resource. But the other three that I listed will definitely help you. Happy Hunting
