I recently took a job that will have me working primarily in Salem and Lynn, but occassionally in Lowell and Haverhill. My wife will be working part time in Medford.

We have a two year old daughter and are looking to buy a new or near new home. Our priorities include very good public schools, a newish neighborhood with young familes, and minimizing our commute. We know very little about the north of Boston towns but are looking at Lynnfield, Lexington, & Winchester. Andover seems great but may be pushing it with the commute.

Any advice would be great! Thank you!

These are all good choices. It depends somewhat on your budget because new homes in these towns can get rather pricey but as far as towns with very good public schools these are some of the best choices nearby. I personally love the peaceful setting of Lynnfield and all the amenities of Lexington. Each of these really has its own "feel" but all are good options. Have you had a chance to be shown around the area?

I think Lynnfield is beautiful and is a great location...if you like being near the ocean it's pretty close.

Thanks for the replies! Does anyone know about any of the new developments going up in these these towns, specifically tappan way/willow woods, hayland farms, pondview estates, & bridle path in Lynnfield....

I'm familiar with several of these. What information would you like about each?

Default Which would you choose?

I realize I haven't given you any info on my budget, but which would you choose? Which might be best for a family with young kids? We're going to drive around this weekend, but its always nice to get more opinions. Any red flags? Someone told me there might be some issues with the deeding on bridle path, ?near old dump site. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.
