A "no" vote opposes establishing a medical loss ratio for dental insurance plans.

Voted yes. These plans are notorious for gouging. I would like to have dental coverage, but refuse to pay for it as you get so little in return for what you pay in.

This reminds me of a bit Chris Rock did in a stand up special. He said they should call insurance "in case ***** happens" and if ***** doesn't happen shouldn't I get my money back?

I'm totally in favor of this law and I would be in favor of the same for health insurance. Much like taxing the rich though these corporations will just cook the books in a fashion that will prevent the law from being effective.

I'm in favor of it. These insurance companies are running amok with respect to their financials.

That line was originally from his character in the movie "Down To Earth."

It already applies to healthcare plans on the ACA exchanges at 80% and it's actually enforced. I just got a notice from my plan here in AZ that they made 8% too much and we'll be getting a rebate (statement credit next month) to bring them back in line.

It's interesting that there are two NO votes but those voters didn't explain why they are voting no. I'd be interested in hearing the opposing view.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen that. It's definitely a take on insurance that makes sense but at the end of the day is not really a viable model because at the end of the day you're paying into a pool.

Did not know that! Ironically, I received such a notice from our health insurance yesterday. I guess last year was a "healthier" year than the insurance companies expected!!

Or, since there's no penalty beyond the rebate, without interest, they deliberately over-estimate and use the excess as an interest-free loan.

Im voting yes. Majority of people think insurance is evil (delta dental) profiteers, so take away from them, and give back to me.

Maybe this shifts the $ from DD to dentists instead. Im sure Ill have to pay more in insurance
