Hi there, we are relocating from CO to MA and there are many nice homes in Rowley. I have a 5 year old with autism and downs syndrome and am interested in anyone's experience with the special education programs in the school systems. we are also looking at Georgetown, Newburyport and Ipswich
Thanks in advance

Default Newburyport SPED is terrible

We had a terrible experience in Newburyport. The SPED department tried to push our daughter out of the program for years and it was always a fight. The adminsitrators and team were dishonest and poorly informed. Subsequent testing from a top expert confirmed not only that or child belonged in the program but was in need of much more than they were providing. I could write a book as to how terrible the leadership was in that department at the elementary and middle school levels. we pulled our child from the school (Nock Middle). Newburyport SPED is terrible. Stay away.

Cool Georgetown-Ipswich

Georgetown and Ipswich are both good communities, though Ipswich has a direct commuter rail to Boston.
Good resident beach access in Ipswich as well for summer time :-)
and good seafood/clam shacks in the area. :-)

Nice area

Georgetown has good schools as well
