Pizza is good but not my first place I would go to.

Sysco comment was more for their entrees.

The original Bertuccis was already sold off around 20 years ago to the same group that owned Chilis, On the border etc. ...... been on a steady decline since then IMO

Bertucci’s is closing six MA locations in Taunton, Randolph, Wayland, Amherst, Longmeadow and West Springfield. Twenty-three restaurants in Massachusetts will stay open, according to the Bertucci’s website. The Kenmore Square location that recently closed was not part of its reorganization.

If I remember correctly I think I had my first date at Bertucci's, lol. I don't mind their pizza. Definitely better than Uno's, but I can see why they would be closing stores. So many better options out there now. I tried Anthony's Pizza last year and was pretty impressed. Lots of little Italian places by me that are a better value (portions are bigger) and everything tastes homemade.

I think there' s a restaurant bubble. Too many brands, too many locations and at the end of the day the people making the most are the owners. Increases to minimum wage, gas prices going up along with interest rates eat away at margins.

Sometimes expansion doesn't make a brand better if it is spread too thin.

Even in Springfield where I am it seems like pizza is popping up all over the place. I'm part Italian but it does seems to cheap it as a concept.

Reminds me there's a one mile stretch of Middleboro where there's EIGHT places to get your hair done between barbershops and salons. Supposedly there's a slow sewer rate that helps.

I know. It seems like Burger joints were the In thing in the last decade. I mean go to harvard square. There are 5 alone in that small block. YES 5!. That is including the old Bartley's which i prefer over the other ones just because it's not the same one thats in a mall. It's only a matter of time that one or a few of them have to fold right?
