We're moving back to Boston in May and I thought I would see if there are any recommendations out there for good mexican food a bit north of Boston. We lived in JP for two years and found some decent places nearby. Now going to live in Marblehead/Swampscott/Beverly (still haven't decided) and wondering if there is anything up there that's good.
Thanks,
E

On Rt. 1 you can go to the Border Cafe- best Tex/Mex/Cajun/S. American around. We used to live in Salem and have tried tons of other places and kept going back to the Border!

Welcome to Border Cafe

Baja Fresh is decent for take out- Beverly. Qdoba is okay as well- Danvers.

I would not recommend Acapulco's in Beverly. The food is fairly traditional, but I found it to be rather lousy on several occasions.

There is a non-chain restaurant downtown Salem. From what I remember it was good. It was next to an Indian restaurant.

Edgewater Cafe- I would say it is 4th or 5th down on my list. Decent, but on two separate occasions, food had cold cores- thinking they freeze some items or buy frozen?

Tacos Lupita in Lynn is quite good if you're willing to go a little further south.

I'm really sorry to hear that. I remember when they opened.
