Once you're past Rt-9, I can't think of any backups on Rt-27 North during the morning rush hour until you hit Rt-2. Rt-27 North has a ton of backups between Walpole and Natick though, and that's a trip that can be 45 min in rush hour. Although it's a bit longer distance-wise, I always took the Pike to 495 to Rt-2 since I tend to drive at least twice as fast on the highway as I do on Rt-27 (except for the stretch on the Wayland-Sudbury line where I go 60).
