Hello, My name is Ian and my mom just got a job at the Peabody library, so i will be moving to peabody. I am a 20 year old and little worried about making friends. Is it easy to make friends being a newcomer to peabody? and what is there to do? I am a community college student, so i think that i would be going to North Shore community college, Danvers campus. Is that a good school? I'm just very curious about Peabody and excited to move out of Western Mass, where i have had no success making friends. Any information im all ears!

NSCC is fine (though as with just about any school, the particular program you're in can be good/bad), and getting to campus for the most part will be convenient. Route 1 can back up a bit at rush, but it's manageable - it's no 128. And depending on where you were living you might not be taking Route 1 anyway.

You'll be of the right age to make some friends through school, but you should also consider what if anything you're going to do for work since that will be another place you meet people. Like anywhere else there are churches/meetup groups/volunteer organizations, etc.

So the trick will be figuring out what you want to do with your time, and then figure out how you can tie that to meeting people.

Peabody has a YMCA, where you could meet people, too. If you get a part time job, and with your school, you should be pretty busy, and meet a lot of people. Think about where a lot of young people work, like retail or restaurants!

Salem is full of people in their 20s. You should have no problem making new friends, if you yourself are friendly.
