There is a straight shot from Waltham to Marlborough on Route 20 east west and it can be traffic bound during rush hour. The Mass Pike is also a good one, but can be traffic bound as well during rush hour. I had lived in Waltham for a while where rte 20, met 95/128 and rte 17. and found that to be a good launching area for destinations. If you are not from the area, traffic can add up to alot of time depending on your location

I do not know about appartments in Marlboro. Good luck

Traffic would be terrible if you are working normal hours. I had a few jobs when I was in construction from Marlborough to Newton and it was stop and go traffic for over an hour. There are plenty of nice apartments in Marlborough, but unless you work second or third shift I do not think it is an ideal commute.

My husband commutes from Framingham to Waltham, and it takes him about a half-hour. If you could do back roads from Marlborough through Framingham, you'd be in just as good shape. Happy to give you some insight both on commutes and possible routes you could take.
