Harvard and Stanford alums don't go around thrusting their degrees in people's mugs since there is such an elitist stigma assigned to them (plus I refuse to believe someone this obtuse went to my alma mater).
Geez.... I think someone has a bur under the saddle. Please take a chill pill (and work on reading comprehension). Also, get out your wood saw, as you will need it.
I am not a Harvard alumnus, and never said I was. Wouldn't go there for free. Go back and read the posts. Please provide a direct posting where I stated such. (The 'tute in Cambridge is a different story, and yes, most of them wear their brass rats).
One of my relatives applied to the MD/PhD program at Harvard, specifically so that this person could turn them down, after the person got accepted. I love it. Talk about a university with an elitist stigma. (Oops.... welcome to that club). Pot. Kettle. Black.

Being myopic is not a good trait. But then again, you know the statement "You learn more and more about less and less, until you know everything about nothing".

But you don't have to worry about me being in Andover.... I am 8,500 miles away from Andover, likely never to return.

Many of us got a degree from Stanford, for free, and never set foot on campus. When a huge benefactor from a rather well-known company (and co-founder) gives the school a zillion (technical term) dollars, the employees get to take classes and get a graduate degree there for free, via live video feeds. Said company also sent employees full-time to graduate school on 3/4 salary. Another company, which the chairman gave zillions to the 'tute also had students go to grad school for free. Anyone that pays, personally, for graduate school needs to go back to basic education. But I digress.

hi there

Back with more questions....finally got the ok to move by January 1....upped the budget to 800K or so....

Here are the schools/areas with rowing clubs: Andover, Newton, Belmont, Wayland, Weston and Acton/boxborough......

To make it trickier, we think we will put our high schooler into a private school...this is going to be a tricky and stressful move for her....we are considering Waldorf HS if there is space....any opinions on this school? Also, other suggestions for private high schools that are nurturing and creative while still offering a bit of an academic challenge?

Thanks

Theresa

Of the towns you list: Andover, Newton, Belmont, Wayland, Weston and Acton/Boxborough, I would note that the commute to Lowell from Newton, Belmont, or Wayland would not be ideal. If commute time to Lowell is an issue, I would focus more on Andover, Westford, A/B with Westord being probably the best of those three for commuting.
