Advice on food stamps (Boston: legal, office, phone)

Hi everyone,

I applied for food stamps in November. I was suppose to have a phone interview on December 9th for my application. I was never called and never given a case worker. I called in to the office and left messages every week with no response. I then received a letter at the end of January stating that I needed to call before 1.3.2012 so they could make a decision on my application. I called the number provided and then faxed and mailed a letter to the office with no response.

Next I called Boston Legal Services and was given another number to call. I left a message and again no response. My application is in limbo since there was no decision made. I can't reapply because I will lose four months of benefits. Any advice on what to do next?

I have no idea, sorry. I assume you mean in Massachusetts? If you've done all the right things and gotten literally no response, I suggest you call your state rep., and don't forget to document everything you've done, when you did it, and what response you did or didn't get.
