I have just been offered a new job in Plymouth and my husband works in Back Bay. Currently living on the north shore and looking for a good school system with some land south of the city. What town has a good school system, affordable ($500,000 for a 3 bedroom) between boston adn plymouth??

Thanks!

I would recommend Hanover or Marshfield. Norwell is nice, but tough to find a house in your range, although you might. Any commute up Route 3 ia a bugger. Scituate is also nice if you want coastal. Both Scituate and Marshfield are lousier commutes than some others, but Scituate has two train stops.
All thse towns have good schools in this order:
1. Norwell
2. Scituate
3. Hanover
4 Marshfield

In this thread I think I break down marshfield pretty good.
If you want to seem some landscape pictures of marshfield. Please view my home page and look under my photo albums.

I second Jamesnana's list. I would probably prioritize Norwell and Hanover because of their proximity to the Expressway. Norwell has definitely gotten expensive, but the reasonable houses are still out there if you look. Try the back roads that cut through the woods instead of the newer developments.

Good luck with your move!
