We go to Dennisport every year, lots to do for kids. May be a little older than 1.5. Red Jacket Rivera Beach does have a kiddy pool with a mushroom and sprinklers, right on the beach - it is on the warmer side (Nantucket Sound). They also have kids activities, a band on weekends, jet skis, and a bar on the beach next door at their other property, movies by the pool. We go there when we have a weekend, and rent a house when we go for a week.

Thanks everyone! We're likely to rent a house in Dennisport, hopefully making the arrangements this week. Any difference in going early, mid or late June?

The water temps will be warmer in late June and so will the air (hopefully???) You will find the Cape much less crowded on weekdays in early June than later in the month when most schools are out. Memorial Day marks the beginning of tourist season so even seasonal shops will be open on weekdays.

Enjoy! Dennisport is a great central location for a Cape vacation.

Default Cape Cod

I too would recomment the town of Dennis. It is quieter than Yarmouth, yet close by. The waters on Nantucket Sound--not the bay side--are much warmer; West Dennis beach is a great beach with swings, a concession stand and a big sandy beach.
Kreme n Kone is an institution for fried clams. And do not skip Sundae School ice cream parlor on Lower county Rd in Dennisport!

My vote is for Dennis! I grew up vacationing in West Dennis and now I take my son there as much as possible. Great restaurants, beaches and activities. There's a nice playground at the Johnny Kelly Park in South Dennis. Sometimes we head over to Main Street Hyannis and just walk with the stroller and look into the shops. There's also an area for flying Kites just accross the parking lot at the West Dennis Beach, which is always a big hit for my son.

Hope this helps!

We did book a rental in Dennis! I'm certainly open to hearing any more ideas you all have for where we should go during the week.
