One area I have always thought was beautiful was Rangeley area, Rangeley Lake and Oquosic. Sadleback Mountain is there too. We used to love camping at Rangeley State Park, very private campsites. -- you don't say where you will be entering Maine - Perhaps you will be comming in by Fryburgh. Brigton and Naples are nice too.
