Maine City/Town to be Setting of a book (Portland: high school, cities)

I have not spent a lot of time on the Eastern side of the country so I don't really know much about it. I concluded after doing a bit of research on the states and getting the plot behind it I came to the conclusion to set it in Maine.

Now I am asking of your help. As coming from California I don't know much about the weather there except for the things that I have read. Here is a list of places that I really like. The qualities that I am looking for are: Town/City has to be fairly small - Population of atleast 6000 - Quality High School With Atleast Some Kind of Sports Team and Drama Department - Good Georgraphy (on or near water) - Public Library

The cities/towns that I really have come to like so far are:

Free Port, Maine
Ellsworth, Maine
Augusta / Manchester Area, Maine
Portland, Maine

If you guys have any information on these cities or have any other cities that would work let me know.

The main female in the groups name is Sunny
and I was looking to name the book Sunny in Maine

Any of those towns/cities would be good locations for your story. There is a lot of info on a number of those places on past threads.

You know, they could have a really great plot and story line by using Sunshine as the locale.

Or Sunset, which is on the western side of Deer Isle. What can I say, we've got it all.
