Borax works too. Just buy the box at any store. Sprinkle it around the house... outside.

Thanks again, Fern! They're not the tiny ants, but not big like carpenter ant either. Just annoying. The cats are having a field day "playing" with them. I just want to deal with it now before it gets even worse once it gets warm again. Hopefully between the great suggestions here we'll get rid of our unwanted houseguests...
