I saw one of them.. wasn't sure what to look for but realized when we saw it that it was IT! awesome.. We waited for the 2nd object but and saw something with flashing strobes so we wernt sure if that was a plane.. So I am guessing we saw the space station...either way it was way cool!

I missed it! That's what I get for not reading the forum earlier. Where we lived in Texas, we were up high with open desert skies. You'd think we would catch sight of interesting things all the time, but seldom did. There were lots of quasars, though.

You must have a radio telescope as QUASAR means quasi-stellar radio source!

Wife and I watched the ISS go by around 8:32pm. Didn't see the shuttle tho. I haven't seen a UFO since the 70s

Here we go again folks. Tomorrow night it is supposed to be clear. The international space station will rise in the west and go as high as 62 degrees above the horizon. If you go to a hilltop with a western view it ought to be quite a sight. It will be visible for nearly three minutes. Hey, it's going 18,000 MPH. It won't be around for very long.

Satellite Rise time Direction to look Transit time Max elevation Magnitude

ISS 04:59:44 pm WSW 05:02:06pm 62° -3.7 (very bright)

(MSINA has the very best viewing opportunity.)

It's going to be cloudy around here.

Friday Night: A slight chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. East wind between 7 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Actually I think it is I, that might have the best view of it!

I'll try not to blink.

Is that Eastern time?? We are supposed to be partly cloudy and I won't be on my hill, rather at work, not a good viewing opportunity but I might go out to see if I can catch a glimpse through the trees. At least I will know what I am looking for this time!

Of course it's eastern time zone and the location is MSINA's front yard. Here's the forecast:

"Friday Night
Mostly clear in the evening...then becoming partly cloudy. Lows in the mid 20s. Southeast winds around 5 mph."

Way down south in Starwalker country it may be partly cloudy due to the edges of that storm that's hammering Virginia.

Being a detail oriented guy, if our forecast had been anything but clear I would not have made the post.
