Gee that's a pretty fancy one too. Mine is just one of those seats you chain to a tree!

Pee FROM? I have to climb down the ladder stand every time I have to go. It does have it's benefits though...the deer are very nearly as attracted to people pee as they are to doe pee, especially if it's female. So I mark accordingly.

Maybe it's me but I thought one of the main benefits of a tree stand was to get a person above the 15 foot level that a deer can catch a scent. Getting 15 feet above their nose negates the need for cover scents and odor elimators. Peeing under your stand or anywhere near it defeats the whole purpose of the stand doesn't it? We carry plastic jugs to use if nature calls in the stand. It can be messy but leaving a scent is not a good idea.

well, my experience tells me otherwise. Perhaps it's because we're in the land of suburban whitetails but more than once (including the buck I had the opportunity to shoot two seasons ago) my DH and I have observed whitetail deer stopping to check out human urine scents. Doesn't keep their attention like ths markings of another deer but it's enough to get their attention. It's probably reinforced by the fact that we run the dog in the same few hundred acre area on a daily basis and frequently (we ain't as young as we used to be) feel the need to relieve ourselves in the wood. So the area deer are not strangers to our scent. We count on that for the one that misjudges our closeness or threat. It's worked for us in the past. I'm sure another method is needed in stranger wilder areas.
