How long would you be up here and what is it you'd like to do while you're here? We need some particulars to give you the best ideas of where to stay.

Well, we stayed on Caribou Pond in Lincoln ... that's about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive to Bar Harbor. One of the reasons we picked that particular spot was to kayak. There are three connected bodies of water - Egg Pond, Caribou Pond, and Long Lake. We found the water to be generally very calm, and very clear, and usually pretty darn quiet as well, especially during the week (little bit busier on weekends).

I can send you the contact information if you'd like - just DM me. It will be tomorrow or Monday before I can respond ... we're on the road home right now (in Conn., en route to VA).
