Just read the article about lowering the income tax got voted down. You would think in this time and way things are, the politicians would be doing everything possible to help people try to survive.

Politicians are politicians.

It is not their role to help folks. A snake is not concerned with the plight of a mouse. A politician does have his own concerns and those are primarily who he can spin events to justify his own pay raises and re-elections.

No body is so naive as to think that politicians do things for the purpose of benefiting the public.

this bill was dead from the moment it was conceived. With Augusta fighting and conieving to get every penny it can it never had a chance. BUT...at least a few politicians can go home and say "I tried but THEY ganged up on me." Excise tax will be next. The towns will lose it but the Leg. will say look what we did for you. Until the roads need paving.

I laughed when I saw the title of this thread; "Income Tax Not Lowered". That's like saying the sun came up. It's kind of predictable with the bunch we have had in Augusta for the last 36 years.
