We have a camp in Sherman and have thought about doing a road trip over to New Brunswick. Would anyone who has traveled there have any suggestions as to where to go or what to do?

For a day trip, maybe a visit to King's Landing and then drop into Fredericton for a meal at one of the many restaurants downtown. I recommend the Lunar Rouge for a great meal in a brew pub. Also could head across to Topsfield, down to Calais and across to St Andrews. That's quaint and nice, but bring your wallet. It's sort of a Bar Harbor atmosphere. Also could head to Lubec and cross over onto Campobello Island. Roosevelt's summer home is well worth the visit. Also there is East Quoddy Head on Campobello as well as West Quoddy in Lubec. Of all the above, I'd recommend Campobello. To me at least if you go up towards Moncton to get to the beach areas you might has well go to Prince Edward Island because it's just a step away from there. That's not a day trip. (unless you don't stop and turn around as soon as you get there) Also if you travel after June 1, make sure you have your passport or passport card. I think the only state driver's licenses that meet the enhanced driver's license criteria currently are WA, NY, MI, and VT. (It would have to be the enhanced license from those states, and that would serve as documentation for re-entry into the U.S.)

St John is also a nice little city. They have a great Zoo. I second King's Landing. It is lovely there on the river. We have been twice in the middle of the summer and it was not crowded. Great for kids too!

ditto on St. John. I was there last September and it was quite nice. The Reversing Falls are cool and the city has an interesting maritime vibe. It's similar in size and setup to Portland, actually. I know nothing of the Zoo there, but would take Newdaawn's word for it!

In St. John stop at the restaurant overlooking the reversing falls. You can watch seals catching salmon. There are tourist boats that gives rides through the reversing falls in summer. I have no idea what they cost. Not my thing. From St John go to the rocks at the Bay of Fundy. The tides are huge.

If you head North in New Brunswick go up to Saint-Jacques and visit the Botanical Garden there. It is VERY nicely done and quite relaxing if you are into that type thing. I usually am not, but love to visit these gardens.

MAYBE English if they see you have a hard time understanding them.

Thanks again everyone!! It looks like St. John is almost 4 hours from us, not that big of a deal timewise since we are used to the long ride from our home in MA to our camp in ME.

About 10 years ago, while in St. John, we stayed at this nice Inn, called Inn on the Cove. The view from the breakfast room was lovely and so were the Inn Keepers. I belive their last name was Mavis.. Could be owned by new people by now.
