Happy Birthday, Peachie!!!

I always liked what Santa Claus said in Miracle on 34th Street -- I'm as old as my gums and a little bit older than my teeth

I beg to differ. Are you talking about your real age, the age you act or the age you feel? I think the age you act is real close to 38! Never knew a man as far into his prime as you that had the stamina of a strapping young lad.

Happy birthday Peachie!

I'm 22 years older than you - 60 - and never felt better in my life! I remembered consoling Maineah when he turned 50 this year! I honestly do not understand these folks who are afraid of a mere number!

I always told people I was "Jack Benny's age" (39) when they'd ask. When they began to ask, "Who's Jack Benny?", I gave up!

Now I just tell them, "I'm a day older than I was yesterday!" Seriously, I know folks in their 80's and 90's (getting more common now) who are active, publishing articles, playing tennis, teaching piano, etc. I'm looking forward to the same...not to any boring nursing home!

Happy birthday, Peachie! And many, many happy returns!
I know..
........It's forgiving myself for saying this as a child. Today's folks are living longer and doing so much with their lives.
I just recall life wasn't a long lived process when I was little..
( those around me looked old and were passing away in their 50's)
Times are changing, so now all I have to do is get past the haunting of what I said, and all is okay- do- kie.
