As a teacher, I am on the front of the FLU. It is here guys. I was taken down with high fevers and sickness for a week, DH(another teacher) has been done for 10 days. I have 5 students out this week with fever over 103. Time to get that FLU shot-trust me you don't want this bad boy. This was the sickest I have been in over 20 years (and teachers see all kinds of bacteria and virus). So, be warned-the flu is here.

A friend of mine's girlfriend got the flu shot and ended up sick in bed for several days!

No matter what I do I get sick feeling for a week in the late fall and in the spring. Not flu or a cold but just sick feeling. weak, lethargic, stomach and leg cramps etc.....

I have no clue why but it has happened every year for the last 30 years.

Something to do with seasonal change?? I'm going through it now.

T looked for you while you were out and again Wednesday. When she came home Wednesday she wondered if you were sick again. I had plans to pick her up today and have her show me where your room is. I wanted to pop in to say hello. As it turns out, I picked her up at St. James while the school was searched for bombs. And speaking of which since I'm already off topic, T pointed out that the first scare was on the last day of the grading period and so was today's scare.

MMT wishing you a complete recovery soon. The students in my room at school have been coughing, sneezing, etc. for several weeks. In Sept. I put out several boxes of kleenex, hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes to wipe down the computer keyboard and mouse trying to keep down the spread of germs.

I got my flu shot yesterday but the WHO (World Health Organization) kept the same 2008 strains for 2009 northern and southern hemisphere flu vaccine. Typically there are additional viruses that are not in the vaccine.

I am hearing from the clinic at school that a bad virus is going around.

Info from my days of working in microbiology...each September the WHO analyzes the circulating flu strains before selecting the ones to include in the southern hemisphere's vaccine for the next flu season, which typically runs from May through October. The WHO does the same for the northern hemisphere each February.
