I know a little about Limerick and will be happy to share what I know. It is about 45 min or so from Portland and has a beautiful country atmosphere. It is a small town with a couple of lakes, I can't remember the names. The real estate is reasonable with homes spread out on larger lots than in the suburbs or city. There is a Hannaford, a major grocery chain here in Maine, located in Waterboro which is the next town over. It has been awhile since I've been to Limerick so it may have some new growth that I am not aware of. The town website may be helpful,
www.limerickmaine.com. The high school and Jr. High are part of the MSAD 57 which covers limerick and they just built a brand new Jr. High School (saw it on the news). It is in the country away from all the busy chaos of the city. A few years ago My husband and I stopped at a little farm stand in Limerick on our way through the town and bought some delicious strawberries as well as some fresh honey. I think it is such a quaint little town and the people are so friendly. I know I haven't given you a large amount of info but I hope I have helped. Good luck and welcome to Maine in advance.
