Can anyone point me towards someone who can put up a steel building that I have? ( after the permit arrives )

I have the materials, but need someone who has done this before. I was in contact with one contractor from Lincoln, but my calls and email are now unanswered.

Please DM me if you have someone.

Thank you~!

I had been interested in steel buildings a couple years ago...didn't buy one, as I had no place to put it at the time. The literature that came stated that it was a do-it-yourself job over the weekend with a couple of buddies, very easy to put the frame together with bolts, not many tools needed, and once assembled on the ground, each piece was lightweight enough to lift into place to bolt onto the last one.

Of course there are people who cannot, for whatever reason, do it themselves. My idea was that any help I would need eventually to finish a small building or house, I would put the money into the local Maine economy by offering work to the neighbors or even advertising. I am positive that there are folks in Maine who need the cash badly enough to team up with you on this. I really don't think you need a 'contractor' as such...possibly the reason the guy in Lincoln won't get back to you. It is definitely unskilled labor.

Why not reach out to your community there, make some friends, get to know your neighbors? You never know when you'll need some more help around the place, and having contacts might be handy! I'm sure some of the local folks would welcome a little income about now, so look around!

Just a suggestion.

It looks like that may be what I have to do.

I'm still waiting on my permit from LURC, so this may turn out to be a spring 2009 project.

The building people said I could do it in a weekend. Perhaps I could, but sometimes you look at something and that voice in the back of your head says don't even try it. ( my voices sound like Gomer, and he keeps saying Shazam? )

Anyway, thanks for the input. My quest continues.........
