I don't know about up north, but down south, restaurant tipping used to be a good time for teens up to no good.

After closing time, restaurants normally sleep on their feet, ya see, so if you get enough guys together and sneak up on it, you can push real hard and topple it over.

Pretty funny, and a good time was had seeing the owner and cook come in the next morning to figure out how to get the poor thing off it's side.

This EXACTLY!

On a related note, I was a server in college and I worked in a tourist area, first at Disney in Orlando, then in Virginia Beach. Considering I only worked 4-5 hours per shift or 10-12 hours if I worked a "double", I made very good money (for a college student) and still had time to go to classes and study. Yes, my hourly wages were meager (around $2.50 per hour) but I didn't see it as income, as it all went to taxes anyway. I made more per week as a server than when I was working full-time at a Marriott making $10 per hour.

Not sure exactly what the minimum for servers is in OR but if I have good service I will tip 15% if it is excellent I do more. Like this afternoon. I tipped about 35% because of excellent service.

HA! I only tip about 20% simply because its quicker to figger in my foggy head. Always unless service is simply stupid.
