Just this past Wednesday or Thursday on NPR (All Things Considered) the host had an interview with a couple Maine highway officials about the condition of Maine roads. Some of the things mentioned were they can't keep up with the potholes, some bridges will be closed due to deterioration, Mainers spend 2 1/2 million $ a year for car repairs due to potholes (that's a lot of money) and a few other things I can't remember. Maybe someone with better computer skills can research the program archives and give us a link. I tried. Here in Wisconsin the roads are also bad. I hate driving at night because you can't see the potholes well enough to avoid them. By the way those Maine guys they were interviewing really had a strong Maine accent......priceless.
