Ok, so we're definitely coming up. A couple that we used to work with in Florida asked if they could come too - of course - the more the merrier!!

So, I'm looking into airline tickets, reservations at Eastport Motel (I think that's the name of it) and renting a car.

Anyone have any clue how soon they'll book the motel? Should I go ahead and make reservations now? I know Key West can book up a year in advance. And that's about the only place we've ever really vacationed, so I have no other point of reference. If we can't get a couple rooms and make it I'd just die. No, I'd wind up getting a room hours away and just driving in. I'm going to be there ! ! !

I'd go ahead and make them now for the Motel East - if they are already booked up, try the Harris Point cabins and some of the B&B's. The Pirate Festival is the day before and likely there will be a lot of out of town people for both festivals. Looking forward to meeting you at the Salmon Festival. Mensaguy will be there too.

When I went to the Salmon Festival a couple of years ago, I showed up in town without a reservation. That was a mistake. Motel East was full, as were the B&B's. Luckily I was able to stay in one of the little cabins outside of town. It was a nice location, but I had to drive into town. It would have been nicer to be able to walk.

I would suggest making reserverations as soon as you can.

Yikes! Ok, that tops the list for things to do today. I hope they still have a couple rooms left!

Reservations made!!!! Arriving September 4th, checking out on the 9th!! Woo Hoo!! It's official!!

I'm so beyond excited! This even cancels out the bad start to the day when I got a call from the Accounts Receivable guy I just got trained who quit. Now if I can just find someone who knows or is willing to learn accounting..... Anyone here like Tennessee and numbers?? LOL!!

That's great! - when the time gets closer I'll send you my phone number so you can call when you get in and maybe those of us living in and around Eastport can get together with you for a drink and dinner.

Hey Mrs1885 - I like TN and numbers (former bookkeeper here). But I'm in Chattanooga. Too far to commute, and if I move, I'm going to Maine. I do like your area though. Rock Island SP is beautiful!

So excited for you, planning your trip. Wonderful!
