Thanks for all the info everyone.
We went up Monday and returned late last night. It was cool up there but we made the best of it. My wife and I hiked up and down Gorham mountain and the bowl and seashore trails. We drove up Cadillac mountain 3 times and once at 4:30 am for the sunrise. The first time up the entire area was choked with fog.
We also hopped on board a Puffin, seal lighthouse tour boat and braved the windy rough seas holding on for dear life and breakfast but we made it and actually saw a bunch of puffins, other birds and seals.
On the way back we poked around the South West harbor side of the island and made our way out to Stoningham and stopped in Castine.

We were up there for 4 full days and could have stayed longer to see and experience more things. It was a good trip. Thanks!

Yeah.... its been pretty cold the last few days. Glad you had a good time and spent lots of cash to keep my taxes down!
BTW, we love tourists! Heck, I used to be a tourist here for many years.

I don't think I've ever seen this mentioned on the forum, but especially families with young children, might be interested. Dive-In Theater Boat Cruise with Diver Ed

Diver Ed is so much fun. He has a facebook account. He used to be the Santa when Santa arrived on the village green in December, and since he has a great memory and visits all the schools to teach show marine biology in the winter, he know a lot of kids by name. So when he was Santa, you could hear the kids saying, "He must be the real Santa, he knew my name!"

Last February he made one dive a day of at least 28 minutes. Y'all remember what it was like in February this year. He gave a two hour show about his dives with a great power point picture show at the Jesup Library in March.
