Are you looking to stay in one place as a home base sort of, or move every few days?

We always visit in early June and have found those areas not yet too full of tourists. We prefer Rockland. Just love it.

Thank you....why that town over the 2 others; I guess the major stream of tourists does not come until July.....when it is warmer?

If you ever come my way (inland central Maine) will have to take you to the sandwich shop here. Bet you can't eat the whole sandwich that they make there!!! Enjoy your trip to the coast. I have only been to Belfast so I cannot really give advice on any of those three. Sorry.

Don't miss Owls Head Airport. They have all kinds of old vehicles in addition to antique rip lanes - and they FLY THEM!

Depends what you are looking for in a place to stay. Rockland is the largest of the three; most city like, most places to eat and drink, see live music, however still not very busy unless during the lobster festival. Rockport is the smallest and my favorite park in the area is here. Its part of the marina down on the water. Camden is really nice too, just a bit smaller than Rockland and there is a really nice park right next to the library. Driving thru Camden in the summer is probably the worst of the three, however not too bad in June.
