A high of 62 degrees today.

6-9 inches of snow tomorrow.

Maine weather is seldom boring.

Mark got that right.

Caribou, ME
NOAA's NWS Forecast Office—Caribou, Maine—Storm Total Snowfall Forecast

17 hours to go. This is supposed to keep going to 7 PM. Be safe out there, folks,

Nice fall day in Maine. Vehicles pointed out. Kubota is full of fuel. We know what to do with this. Don't pile it up beside the driveway, Blow it 40 feet out into the woods!

There is something special about running the snowblower the day after the storm.

Remember to stretch good before moving this snow, it's pretty heavy.

Today 11/30 morning there is freezing rain in central Maine. Watch out driving. It is 0830 and the sanders are just getting out. Our town sander just went up the road. Tried to turn in to the driveway of the business that we were going to this morning. Wheels turned, car just kept going straight. VERY slippery. be careful!!

The snow last night or today will be nothing compared to whats coming Tuesday-Wednesday. You guys ready for more snow? Ski resorts are loving all the snow this year. Bangor with half their season normal already and it just turned December!

Here's Sugar Loaf this morning.

My favorite part of the winter. Being fairly new still, I really don't like going unless there is a recent storm day or 2 before; hurts too much to fall on the fake or packed snow.....

We got about 2 inches of snow last night, then it started sleeting, and made shoveling it a pita, wasnt really enough to make it overly heavy, but our driveway is about 150' long and I know if I dont get it up its gonna all turn to ice tomorrow.

So far the upper turn around area of the driveway is done, and down by the street, might just leave the middle and roll the dice.

Default Batten down the hatches!! A storm's a brewin'!

All I can say is WOW! You folks better be ready for the Tuesday thru early Thursday time frame. If the latest European model verifies, places like Kennebunkport, Portand on up the coast to Acadia NP, stand the chance of not only significant snow, ice and maybe some rain, but damaging winds as well. This is a nasty combination for as deep as this system will likely be. The EURO model has wind gusts to 70mph just off shore near Portland to Belfast for Tuesday night. Portland proper should see at least 30-45mph winds for sure. What's worse, the strongest of the storm should hit near high tide, so coastal flooding is a distinct possibility. Lets hope enough warm air gets into this system to turn some of this to rain with this kind of wind expected. Further inland, up to 18" of snow is possible for the ski areas for western ME.

Thanks for keeping this thread going. Maybe the moderator can make it a sticky. I'll definitely be watching this close and it will try to update. Hopefully Cambium can throw in his ideas as well.

Its a rain storm on the coast here on MDI(Acadia NP). Temps are going to be above 40. Winds not higher than 25mp sustained, gusts to 40. Unless we have heavy wet snow on trees with lots of leaves still on them, we have this kind of thing all the time. No big deal.

It was sure bright and sunny today.

On I-95 in the North bound direction, between mile 170 and 180, I was surprised to see so much ice on the pavement in both lanes. I generally think of the Interstate system as Federal funds, and much better maintained.

On I-95, in Bangor there is sheet ice on the lane dividers, and occasionally stretching across the lane. Which is also a rare sight.

But once North of Bangor traffic flow went back up to between 75 and 80, so every thing is normal again.
